Sunshine Coast Clients Sought by USC Social Media Students

Background or title2

Thank you to the businesses and non-profits that  registered to be clients for USC social media students. All places are now filled for this semester, but there will be further opportunities in semester two.

Sunshine Coast businesses, charities, community and sporting groups are being encouraged to register their interest in becoming clients for students at the University of the Sunshine Coast undertaking a course called, Social Media: Content Curation and Creation; one of four courses in USC’s social media minor.

As part of their studies, students will develop a social media strategy and five pieces of social media content based on one or two goals identified by their assigned client.

The initiative aims to teach students how to apply strategic social media theory to practice to benefit organisations and businesses within the Sunshine Coast community.

I will guide students throughout their learning journey, along with input from industry leaders in social media content marketing.

Clients will receive a social media strategy document and content to use at their discretion at the end of semester one (mid-June, 2018).

As part of the exercise, students will need to be in contact with their assigned client and will possibly need to visit their premises as part of the process of developing their social media strategy and content. This will begin in the final week of March. Please note: Students will not post anything on social media relating to your business or organisation.

Clients selected for the program will be sent two brief online surveys (one before and the other after the activity to gather valuable feedback) and invitations to participate in a focus group and attend a networking event in July.

Please feel free to email me, Dr Karen Sutherland at for more information.
