I won Silver at the International Stevie Awards

I was named winner of a Silver Stevie® Award in the Best Business Book category in The 19th Annual International Business Awards® early this week for my book: Strategic Social Media Management – Theory and Practice published by Palgrave Macmillan. This is the third award my book has received in 2022 with the text also winning a Book Excellence Award in the Social Media category and being named in the Book Authority’s Best Public Relations E-Books of All Time.

The International Stevie Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards program. All individuals and organizations worldwide – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small – are eligible to submit nominations. The 2022 IBAs received entries from organizations in 67 nations and territories.

More than 3,700 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Company of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Startup of the Year, Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year, and Executive of the Year, among others.  This year’s competition also featured a number of new categories to recognize organizations’ and individuals’ achievements in social media and thought leadership.

Judges comments about my book included:

“Dr Karen Sutherland has written an astonishingly comprehensive guide to social media management, literally covering every imaginable aspect of the subject. What broadens its appeal is the combination of theory AND practice with an emphasis on the practical application of the theories presented. This is supported by the listing of additional resources and tools as well as useful templates. All of this is certain to make the book invaluable not only for students and educationalists, but also for social media managers looking to refresh or expand their knowledge.”

“What stands out, and in my opinion makes this an award-winning entry, is: Social Media: Stop Selling. Start Helping.”

“Thoughtfully crafted and formatted to be a resource for students, educators, and professionals looking to round out their social media knowledge. Well done.”

“Interesting content. In these times where communication is in everyone’s hands, it is very necessary to know how to administer and manage social media platforms and channels. Develop strategies, create valuable content, take care of reputation and credibility. There are many aspects in the world of social media.”

“This book is not a guide for dummies, but a standard work on social media that deals with the subject in great detail and scientifically correct. It can only be recommended to anyone who wants to be sustainably successful in this field.”

Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 300 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process in June and July.
